(STARpod.org) -- In the early 1990s, the tasking of American psychic spies was a closely held secret.

A few years later, former CIA Director and Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, representing  CIA leadership, would reveal the secret psychic operations on ABC News Nightline with Ted Koppel.

Funding for the psychic projects, run by the Defense Intelligence Agency and known as STAR GATE, had been increasing, and the psychic spies were offered to Intelligence Agency "clients" facing intractable intelligence problems.

In January 1991, American had unleashed Operation Desert Storm against Iraq, and tensions were high.

American intelligence was worried about an increase in terrorist activity following the U.S. led invasion.

According to a secret limited distribution document from the STAR GATE files, psychic spies were asked the question:

"Will there be any significant terrorist activity in the near future?"

Five American psychic "sources" provided their response to this question.

Although "no significant terrorist activity" was expected in the immediate future, several of the psychics warned about threats to Europe, and London in particular.

Looking out into the longer term future, the 1990s era psychic spies made several predictions, some which have come to pass over time:

"The New York City area is being planned for terrorist attack in the near future."

In 1993, terrorists drove a large bomb into the parking garage below the World Trade Center North Tower and detonated the device, killing six people.

The January 1991 assessment noted:

"A large city, probably London, may experience terrorist activity."

The IRA attacked trains later that year.

Another source noted:

"NY and DC areas to be targeted."

While another source predicted:

"Terrorist activity will probably spread to the U.S. though the use of chemical devices are not anticipated."

Following the New York City World Trade Center attack of 1993, al Qaeda launched the infamous attacks of September 11th, 2001, destroying the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center and inflicting serious damage upon the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.

Another of the psychics noted:

"Terrorist activity will be coordinated worldwide."

Many other predictions made by the psychics did not coalesce into real events, but did later appear in some of the early warnings following 9/11.

"Targets could include nuclear power plants and possibly nuclear storage/development areas."

"Some attacks may be made against nuclear power plants in an attempt to cause them to melt down."

And, in a nod towards some of the justification offered for George W. Bush's invasion of Iraq, sources warned about weapons of mass destruction:

"Iraq has several dirty nuclear devices and may use them."

"CW/BW [chemical and biological weapons] explosives will be left behind in event of retreat from Kuwait."

"Hussein has placed CW/BW devices on various cargo or empty oil tankers that are (or will be) in various worldwide ports."

"Hussein does have a few dirty nuclear devices that he plans to move via ships, trucks, to various worldwide locations."

It is unknown whether or not any of this information was passed up to senior channels and landed in any intelligence briefings.

Knowing the Future
THE UFO SPY GAMES

CIA, 9/11, UFOs, and the Extraterrestrial Presence

The real-life business of the government's X-files remains hidden in plain sight. The government claims "we can neither confirm nor deny" that documents exist showing extraterrestrial objects have been tracked as they enter the Earth's air space. Meanwhile a handful of very high ranking intelligence officials play out spy games on the Internet about reverse engineering alien technology and a former CIA Deputy Director for Intelligence is implicated in the sordid affair.

The core of this story involves high level government intelligence persons and SERPO, a "soap opera" about US government contact with an extraterrestrial alien intelligence.

This is a record of SPY GAMES -- PLAYED INSIDE THE UFO MYSTERY, AND ON THE INTERNET -- as it happened.

From the world of psychic spies, paranormal goat killers, and Skinwalkers haunting remote regions of Utah, something wicked and wacky this way comes. Drawn from the files of the private intelligence source STARstream Research: A real-life tall-tale of espionage. At the core, a confrontation at CIA HQ between a former CIA official and officers of the United States Air Force. Twenty years later, the game continues where disturbing worlds collide. The heart of the matter: a US Government UFO Working Group, dark secrets kept in the shadows under the guise of counter-intelligence operations of the United States Air Force, and decades-old rumors of extraterrestrial contact with "something not of this world." The Official's concern: hidden within tales of "Real Life X-Files" a potentially dangerous viral marketing scheme, possibly intended to elicit real classified information from past and present intelligence officers.

Stranger still, government files prove that the US government spent decades exploring the paranormal psychic spying, in an effort to "know the future" and beat the Russians, in a race to obtain technologies from beyond our world.

This book is a collection of articles and materials originally published on-line by STARstream Research, PR Web, and The American Chronicle, and at the "Spies, Lies, and Polygraph Tape" blog. This is the first time they have been made available in print. Included in this volume is the popular article "To the Moon and Back, With Love," the story of CIA psychic Ingo Swann's extraterrestrial encounters.

Also included in this volume: The sixteen part mini-book "Knowing the Future: CIA, 9/11, UFOs, and the Extraterrestrial Presence," about the race to obtain "alien" technologies.
