PARANORMAL ACTIVITY OF THE FOURTH KIND:

ALIENS, DEMONS, AND MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS

October 17, 2009

(STARpod.org) -- It's a topic I'm hesitant to touch -- and one firmly ensconced in the alternative mainstream (that's surely an oxymoron, but 21st century pop culture is drenched in the paranormal).

I'm referring to the connections between extraterrestrial aliens, their more advanced "masters-of-the-universe" cousins the ultra-terrestrials, and the kind of paranormal activity associated with demonic forces of evil.

These are topics that make military men who stare goats to death seem positively normal by comparison.

The public fascination with "paranormal activity" keeps the box office busy with low budget horror films and fantastical imaginings brought to life by computer generated effects which are light years beyond Roger Corman's B-movies of the 1960s and 1970s.

When Corman was king, cold war paranoia-inspired doomsday scenarios played on public fears of alien invasion and unseen forces bent on tormenting human victims.

Meanwhile, in the real world, God's creatures had suffered intolerable experiments at the hands of the military.

Goats were among the most abused as they were shot, burned, and fed alive to the monstrous blast of nuclear explosions, along with many other lesser relatives of the animal kingdom. Experiments intended  to stop the heart of a goat by psychokinetic mind over matter, carried out at Special Forces Goat Lab, seem positively humane by comparison.

Sightings of unidentified flying objects added to Hollywood inspired fears we were not alone.

Soon the aliens would be abducting unwitting helpless individuals for their own nefarious experiments -- a kinder, gentler reflection of the fate that had befallen so many goats -- human minds, and bodies, forcibly probed in intimate detail, with a ruthless exactness that belied an unknown purpose.

Among the elite, the powers that be, and fool-hardy scientists willing to imagine the face of an extraterrestrial menace, whispered tales of unearthly contact fell beneath an umbrella of secrecy later dubbed  "the core story."

The true secrets of the core story may never be known, but the best evidence allegedly showed up at the Laurence Livermore National Laboratory, and may have been related to an alleged radiation that appeared to penetrate one of the walls at the facility.

The core question was how to interpret the data: was this evidence of an advanced extraterrestrial technology, thousands or even millions of years ahead of humanity -- or was this the work of ultra-terrestrial demons: beings of unimaginable power able to bend space, time, and mind at will?

Private discussions suggest modern technology is rapidly advancing to the point where many of the once mysterious phenomena no longer appear to be so mysterious after all. One well placed individual even suggested deep black or private intelligence operations may have the ability to perform exotic mind-control tricks and treats capable of simulating many, if not all, of the phenomena reported in close encounters of the fourth kind: alien abductions.

One intriguing tale comes from Dr. Eric Davis, a physicist who had worked on a special project for Bob Bigelow of Bigelow Aerospace, then later authored an extensive teleportation physics paper under contract with the U.S. Air Force.

The Bigelow project was focused on paranormal activity at a ranch in Utah. One reported encounter involved a researcher at the site who was frozen in his tracks by an unearthly presence.

Davis described the strange paranormal phenomena manifesting in "the form of a dark shadow or cloud-type effect which had an unusual turbulence effect when it shrunk to a point an disappeared."

Having heard similar accounts of these shape-shifting clouds, I asked Davis about the alleged telepathic voices-in-your-mind that accompanied the phenomena. Davis explained "there were multiple voices that spoke in unison" even as other sensory inputs were squashed, leaving the poor researcher frozen in his tracks, unable to move until the shadow had vanished.

Probing further, I asked Davis about the nature of the "telepathic" experience. He described the voices as being "monotone males with a very terse, threatening tone," which does sound similar to some reports of anomalous EVP voice phenomena picked up by audio recording instruments.

I asked Davis if this phenomena had manifested any audible or other tangible effects outside of the mind of the hapless researcher held at the mercy of the paranormal effect. According to Davis, this incident, and presumably similar ones, including the alleged alien abductions of the fourth kind, are mental manifestations of an unknown source phenomena.

It is worth recalling the fate of the unfortunate and unwitting victims of CIA's notorious MKULTRA LSD experiments, in which a source unknown to the victim (the LSD) severely compromised the victim's conscious experience in bizarre and subjectively inexplicable ways.

Is it possible the effect described by Davis is the result of an externally applied mind-altering electromagnetic field on the human brain? Or a novel biochemical response to covertly administered drugs?

Another source knowledgeable about state of the art  neuroscience seemed to think so.

The Intelligence Community is presently pursuing a wide range of brain-mind-machine interactions with an ultimate goal of reading and sending thoughts directly into the conscious mind.

A recent National Research Council report on "Emerging Cognitive Neuroscience and Related Technologies" warns:

"There are instances where it might be possible in the future to control a person's behavior through the application of drugs or electromagnetic devices ... One example of a potential threat in the category of distributed human-machine systems and computational biology is a computational cognitive framework ... the Intelligence Community does not have the internal capability to warn against scientific developments that could lead to major -- even catastrophic -- intelligence failures in the years ahead."

Short of a man-made psycho-physical 9/11 event -- perhaps one as portrayed in the ABC TV series Flash Forward -- there remains a small but real possibility that the source of the intelligence alleged to be responsible for "fourth kind" events is non-human.

Cultural conditioning, largely due to the film and television industry, placed an emphasis on large scale invasion scenarios where flying saucers land on the White House lawn as they blast cities out of existence.

Perhaps our "visitors" are subtle but mildly malicious as they probe the human species to see exactly what makes us tick: our fears, our loves, our hates and desires teased out by subtle and not so subtle mind-machine interactions.

The critical temperature transmitted by these esoteric ideas, the phenomenology events, and rapidly advancing technologies to the Intelligence Community is difficult to ascertain.

CIA, DIA, NSA, Army Intelligence, USAF, Navy, and others have dabbled off and on in the paranormal since the end of World War II announced the beginning of the Age of the Atom, with all the perils implied for the demise of humanity.

It remains a comic and tragic tale: author Jon Ronson aptly painted the bizarre marriage of the absurd with the disturbing in his book The Men Who Stare at Goats. Consciousness is a delicate substance easily affected by environmental and internal pressures. Distortions in our thought processes can evoke immense opportunity for new creation, or spin us wildly into the maws of madness.

As human technology begins an assault on an unknown country where no man has gone before, we must remain vigilant, our ignorance shielded by knowledge of the abuses of minds past. The mind is our home world: the base of our experience. A change of mind is a change as great as the many alien worlds of deep space.

Aliens, or demons, or even men who state at goats: In the end the extraterrestrial we face is the one looking back in the mirror.

A former CIA senior analyst commented:  "You do a service. Excellent analysis from what is officially released material needs constancy of theme and purpose, not simply "expose'" morning coffee. You do excellent analysis. I sure as heck am learning things I didn't know, but which fit like my hands in gloves I was shown but never allowed to try and put on."
