'Lost' in Space? Bob Bigelow's Alien Extraterrestrial Haunted Ranch
From the world of psychic spies, paranormal goat killers, and Skinwalkers haunting remote regions of Utah, something wicked and wacky this way comes.
01/21/2012 04:35 GMT CUT (STARpod.org) -- If you're a fan of the TV series Lost, then you're probably familiar with "the smoke monster," the strange power that manifests itself in odd sounds heard moving through the jungle; is seen moving through the woods knocking down trees along the way; and experienced in close encounters as a weird polymorphic black smoke, capable of lifting people up in the air and smashing them to their deaths. People walking through the jungle are often surrounded by the sounds of whispering voices, or experience mysterious encounters with persons living and dead, as well as insects and animals. Although the TV series ended recently, leaving many unexplained threads dangling for fans to debate for years to come, the mysteries left behind by the writers of Lost are an odd mixture of weirdness from science fiction and speculative physics, with core elements of the supernatural. All in all, it sounds not too far removed from reports of the strange phenomena alleged to take place at Bob Bigelow's haunted ranch in Utah. Bob Bigelow's company, Bigelow Aerospace, is on the verge of becoming America's foremost private space venture. According to reports, as quoted by the Bigelow Aerospace website, Bigelow has "already spent about $180 million of his own money so far and has said he is willing to spend up to $320 million more" to develop his space stations and lunar base concept. When it comes to UFO sightings, the FAA advises Air Traffic Controllers, "Persons wanting to report UFO/unexplained phenomena activity should contact a UFO/ unexplained phenomena reporting data collection center, such as Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies." Bob Bigelow, following shortly after physicist Stephen Hawking's warning to avoid the alien extraterrestrials at all cost, recently told The New York Times that UFOs can have a fatal attraction. "People have been killed. People have been hurt. It’s more than observational kind of data." ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW KNOWING THE FUTURE: THE UFO SPY GAMES
Although we have no idea if Bigelow was referring to his haunted ranch -- or to other close encounters of the deadly kind -- spending time at Bigelow's ranch sounds an awful lot like being a castaway at the Lost Island. Supernatural strangeness has become associated in this modern age with UFOs and alien visitations. The big question -- besides the obvious vetting of the reality of the phenomena -- is whether or not there is a 'nuts and bolts' hard reality connection to the Lost-like phenomena. Take, as an example, one impartial observer's description of an 'alien abduction' as viewed from outside of the experience: “I'd say that what surrounded you on the night was like intelligent smoke. It did swirl around you like a whirlwind and you had a strange look on your face.” It certainly sounds like Lost's smoke monster. And checking a few fan sites on the Internet, it is soon apparent than no one really understands exactly what the smoke monster is, nor fully what it represents, although there are plenty of theories out there. Theories that echo the real-life tales of encounters at the haunted Bigelow Ranch. In the 1990s, Bigelow seized the opportunity to send a science team into a Lost-like situation at the so-called Skinwalker Ranch, the haunted location in Utah (the story of the ranch is told in the book Hunt for the Skinwalker, by Bigelow team member Colm Kelleher, and journalist George Knapp). Various experts were assembled to attempt to observe, and if possible, scientifically determine what was behind the strange reports. At the time, the investigation was conducted under Bigelow's now-defunct National Institute for Discovery Science, or NIDS. In 2006, when I first reported about a "UFO group" discussing alternative energy and propulsion at meetings of the DIA's TIGER committee (see my book Spies, Lies, and Polygraph Tape for the details), former Bigelow scientist Dr. Eric Davis told investigative journalist and radio host George Knapp that his colleague from the Skinwalker investigation was a member of the TIGER committee -- even as he denied any knowledge of DIA involvement. Dr. Davis was referring to Dr. Christopher Kit Green, who had been the key forensic expert at the CIA during an investigation into covert assassination using a poison pellet shot from an umbrella. The story of Dr. Green's role in solving the "umbrella assassination plot" was told in an episode of the PBS TV series Secrets of the Dead. Clearly, Bigelow had provided his science team with an experienced expert forensic advisor. Indeed, as I have reported previously, Green is a member of the DIA TIGER early-warning committee alongside of other well-placed former intelligence officials, including Dr. John Gannon, who had been tasked to launch the Department of Homeland Security. He is also no stranger to the paranormal: In the 1970s, Green was assigned to the CIA's effort to develop psychic spies to match alleged Soviet mental superpowers. Among the many odd experiences reported by the team during their stay at Bigelow's haunted ranch -- including the story of how the rancher's dogs were disintegrated when they chased after one of the many unidentified phenomena -- was an encounter with what appeared to be a strange being emerging from a tunnel which appeared right out of thin air. Stranger still -- and this could easily have been a scene from Lost -- one of the physicists on the project was frozen in place by a weird telepathic message beamed into his brain by a dark shadow creature. This is how the event was described to me by one of the researchers on the project: "There were multiple voices that spoke in unison telepathically. Four senses were in their control so there was no odor, sound, smell, or touch, and overall body motion was frozen (as in the muscles that would not respond). Afterwards, when completely freed from this event (after the dark shadow disappeared), there was no lingering or residual odors, sounds, etc. in the immediate environment. The voices were monotone males with a very terse, threatening tone." All in all, the mystery of Bigelow's secretive investigation is only compounded by the confidentiality required of his employees. As reported by The New York Times, "a company document titled 'Some Important Bigelow Aerospace Cultural Values' implores employees, 'Keep your work and the work of your co-workers very private from people outside the company.'" Perhaps the most telling item of on background information we received concerning the creep show weirdness at Bigelow Ranch may be summed up in just two words: "Believe it!" Having heard the strange tales of phantasmagoria, and confirmation of the same, I'm no longer certain that "I want to believe." Sometimes the best cure for a nightmare is to simply wake up. From the world of psychic spies, paranormal goat killers, and Skinwalkers haunting remote regions of Utah, something wicked and wacky this way comes. Drawn from the files of the private intelligence source STARstream Research: A real-life tall-tale of espionage. At the core, a confrontation at CIA HQ between a former CIA official and officers of the United States Air Force. Twenty years later, the game continues where disturbing worlds collide. The heart of the matter: a US Government UFO Working Group, dark secrets kept in the shadows under the guise of counter-intelligence operations of the United States Air Force, and decades-old rumors of extraterrestrial contact with "something not of this world." The Official's concern: hidden within tales of "Real Life X-Files" a potentially dangerous viral marketing scheme, possibly intended to elicit real classified information from past and present intelligence officers. Stranger still, government files prove that the US government spent decades exploring the paranormal psychic spying, in an effort to "know the future" and beat the Russians, in a race to obtain technologies from beyond our world. This book is a collection of articles and materials originally published on-line by STARstream Research, PR Web, and The American Chronicle, and at the "Spies, Lies, and Polygraph Tape" blog. This is the first time they have been made available in print. Included in this volume is the popular article "To the Moon and Back, With Love," the story of CIA psychic Ingo Swann's extraterrestrial encounters. Also included in this volume: The sixteen part mini-book "Knowing the Future: CIA, 9/11, UFOs, and the Extraterrestrial Presence," about the race to obtain "alien" technologies. |
